Who We Are

The Kids Voice Initiative (KVI) is a youth-led not-for-profit organisation on a mission to address gender based violence, child abuse, out-of-school children, teenage pregnancy, child marriage, substance abuse and other social problems that affect children, girls and teenagers.

KVI is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria with CAC /IT/NO….. We are committed to reducing the gender gaps that exist in education, economic empowerment, and the living conditions of children and girls.

Through advocacy, mentorship, education, school outreach, hands-on training, and partnerships, we strive to build a just and inclusive society where the well-being and rights of girls and vulnerable children are protected.

Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for children and girls by actively working to prevent and reduce the incidences of child abuse, child marriage, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, female Genital Mutilation, and gender-based violence. We are committed to raising awareness, advocating for policies, and providing support systems that uphold the rights, dignity, and well-being of children and young girls.

Adanne Blessing Okechukwu

Executive Director

Adanne Blessing Okechukwu is a gender advocate, social innovator, entrepreneur and visionary leader with a deep-seated passion for the development, empowerment, and overall well-being of the girl child and women. She is the Executive Director of The Kids Voice Initiative. She holds a Bachelor of Science  degree in Political Science (Second Class upper) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and Master of Science in International Relations, University of Abuja.

Her work is driven by a commitment to creating inclusive and supportive systems that uplift marginalized voices, break gender stereotypes and cycles of poverty, and foster equal opportunities for growth, education, and leadership.

She strives to build safe spaces and support system for survivors of sexual abuse and gender based violence. As a social innovator, she advocates for policy changes and implementation of programs that inspire confidence, resilience, freedom and self-determination among girls and women.

She is on a mission to building a community of empowered and self-reliant girls who thrive, lead, and live with dignity and purpose.

Winnifred Chigozie Egeolu

Project Coordinator

Winnifred Chigozie Egeolu is a passionate advocate for gender equality, child rights, and public health, with a special focus on reproductive health. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and International Studies(University  of Nigeria Nsukka), a field that has sharpened her analytical skills and deepened her understanding of socio-cultural dynamics, particularly those affecting women and marginalized groups in Africa.

Her academic background, combined with practical experience in communication and advocacy, positions her as a dedicated public health enthusiast and a committed voice for change. Winnifred has contributed to various initiatives aimed at promoting women’s health and rights, using her expertise in communication to engage diverse audiences and amplify underrepresented voices.

Beyond her professional pursuits, she is an avid researcher with a keen interest in historical documentation and analysis. Her hobbies include traveling, exploring new cultures, and engaging in volunteer activities that promote education, equity, and community development. Through her work and interests, Winnifred continues to seek impactful ways to foster inclusive development and advance social justice.

Chiamaka Merit Nwanosike

Legal Advisor

Chiamaka Merit Nwanosike is a committed legal practitioner with strong passion for social development and justice. As an associate in Emeka Ngige & co. she has been exposed to the many ills and woes the voiceless and defenseless face. She also worked as a counselor with FIDA (International Federation of Women lawyers) Rivers State branch, where the rights of women and children were upheld and defended using every available legal machinery.  With a deep understanding of the legal system and a heart driven by compassion, she brings a unique blend of legal expertise and humanitarian concern to every aspect of her work. She believes in early intervention, mentorship and holistic support systems a vital tools in shaping a safer and more equitable society.

With integrity, empathy and strong sense of purpose, Merit continues to use her legal background to defend the defenseless, empower the voiceless and contribute meaningful to social development and empowernment of the girl child through several organizations.

Edet Nsika

Team Lead

Edet Nsika is a passionate media and development professional with a strong commitment to using storytelling, graphics, and digital media to drive social impact and inspire meaningful change. With experience in visual communication and community-focused advocacy, he leverages creative media tools to amplify important conversations around education, child welfare, youth development, and social inclusion.

As the Team Lead at The Kids Voice Initiative, he provides strategic leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of the organisation’s projects and community interventions. He oversees project implementation, supervises team activities, and ensures that programs are carried out effectively to create measurable impact in the lives of children and young people.

Known for his creativity, leadership, and collaborative approach, Edet plays a key role in strengthening the organisation’s visibility, outreach, and engagement through impactful media content and storytelling. His ability to combine communication, innovation, and social development makes him an important force in advancing the mission and vision of the organisation.

His core strengths include project coordination, media communication, graphic design, team leadership, storytelling, community engagement, and social impact advocacy.
